Week 10 Walking Wounded

QB:

Tony Romo - Romo is on bye in week 10, and is expected to return in week 11. That'll make 4 missed weeks, including 3 games, which was the original estimate.

Ben Roethlisberger - Roethlisberger returned to practice today and will start in week 10. Given the tough Colts secondary and the fact the Steelers will probably lean on the run, I would sit him if you have a viable alternative.

Matt Schaub - Schaub has a torn MCL, and he is out in week 10. He is expected to miss up to 4 weeks.

Carson Palmer - Palmer is out in week 10. Redrafters should probably cut bait at this point. There's no point in hanging onto him any longer.

Kyle Orton - Orton has a high ankle sprain and will probably miss 4-6 weeks. He is out in week 10.

Matt Hasselbeck - Hasselbeck is out in week 10 with his neck/leg injury.

Derek Anderson - Anderson has lost his starting job and should be dropped in all leagues.

Dan Orlovsky - Orlovsky is out multiple weeks with a sprained thumb ligament, and could miss the rest of the season. It will be a heated practice competition this week between Drew Stanton and Daunte Culpepper to see who can show the other what not to do in week 10.

RB:

Steven Jackson - Jackson completely screwed his owners by being active, but playing ineffectively, and then being benched. His status for week 10 is up in the air. At this point, the Rams should not use him unless he's 100%. Head coach Jim Haslett have said that he'll need to practice fully sometime this week in order to play, which is a very smart move. We should know by Friday if he's going to start or not. *edit* Jackson did not practice this week and is out in week 10. His replacement will split time and are NOT worth speculating on.

Willie Parker - Parker exited in week 9 with a mysterious shoulder injury, and he has been ruled out in week 10 as a result. Mewelde Moore will start for Parker and has an excellent match up against the Colts.

Reggie Bush - Bush is not expected to play in week 10, but I'll update for sure once it's clear that he's out. *edit* Bush is out in week 10.

Larry Johnson - LJ has been suspeneded by the NFL in week 10 and is out. A future, longer suspension cannot be ruled out.

Kolby Smith - Smith suffered a knee injury that will end his season. He actually ran very well against a tough TB defense last week, but went out early after a good start.

Jonathan Stewart - Stewart randomly contracted some sort of heel injury either during week 8 or in the practices since, so make sure to get him out of your lineup. He's questionable, but there's no reason for the Panthers to risk him against the Raiders. DeAngelo Williams is a borderline RB1 in a match up against Oakland.

Willis McGahee - McGahee pulled the ultimate screwjob on his owners in week 9 by being declared active, but then not being used, bringing back ugly memories of Corey Dillon in NE 2 years ago. Of course, if you drafted McGahee this year, your butt is used to this sort of thing already. There's rumors that he'll miss week 10, so keep a close eye on him. *edit* McGahee should play in week 10, but there's a very good chance that Ray Rice will dominate carries anyways.

Sammy Morris - I apologize for not putting him on here before. Morris is week-to-week with a knee injury, but should reclaim the starting RB job once he returns. His week 10 status is up in the air. *edit* Morris and Jordan are both out again. Green-Ellis and Faulk will continue to split time.

Warrick Dunn - Dunn is week-to-week, so his status in week 10 is up in the air.

WR:

Santana Moss - Moss is on bye in week 10.

Matt Jones - Jones seems to be week-to-week with his 3 game suspension looming, but has a beautiful match up against Detroit in week 10. Keep an eye for news on Tuesday or Wednesday. *edit* Jones has not been suspended yet and remains an excellent WR3 against Detroit.

TE:

Jeremy Shockey - Shockey has hopefully recovered over the bye week, but keep an eye on his practice status this week. *edit* Shockey has practiced all week without limitations and needs to be started in week 10.
